Google’s Performance Max Campaigns – Beware!
Google has launched Performance Max, the ‘next generation’ of shopping campaigns (formerly known as Smart Shopping). I don’t recommend using Performance Max if you have less than $5,000 per month to spend on these campaigns and if your average basket size is under $100.
Performance Max is ‘black box marketing’ meaning, you get minimal query data, minimal audience data, minimal reporting data, no control in selecting the channel’s your campaigns are displayed on in Google’s network. Basically, you throw your money in and Google does the rest.
