Meta are introducing a new ‘account health evaluation‘ program. The new feature is designed to support your customers in having a good shopping experience. You can find your assessment in Meta Business Suite, in the Commerce Manager, under ‘Account Health’ as per the image below. You can see your results and when your account was last reviewed.

Social commerce

Social commerce is selling products directly through your social media channels. Social commerce not only includes the discovery process but moves your audience further down the funnel by encouraging users to complete the entire purchase process without leaving the social media app.

I recently downloaded an eBook on Social Commerce in 2022: Everything You Need To Drive Conversions. It has eight best practices to implement across any social selling accounts that you have and includes specific best practices for the top social selling platforms.

For example:

  • Facebook: use live shopping and offer individual messaging experiences utilizing the automated messaging feature.
  • Instagram: use Instagram reels, hold live shopping events and leverage instant messaging.
  • TikTok: recently introduced shopping so focusing on optimizing your product catalog and collaborating with influencers.

New Meta social commerce features

Instagram announced that you can now boost your reels and turn them into ads to reach new audiences and drive more engagement.

The catch is that reels must be less than 60 seconds and have a 9:16 aspect ratio. If you are using third party IP – such as copyrighted music, GIFs, interactive stickers or camera filters in a reel – they are ineligible for boosting.

Meta also announced that you can now buy products through Instagram chat. This feature is to help people start conversations with small businesses and help them find and buy products they love in an easy, seamless experience, right from the chat thread.
